OAT Workshop
Are you applying to optometry school soon? Learn more about the application process and tips on studying for the OAT at our OAT/OptomCas Workshop! Current officers will share their experiences of applying to optometry school and will provide tips. There will also be a representative from OAT Booster who will talk about OAT study resources!

Love Yourself Social
Come out to meet new members, make Valentine’s Day cards, and have fun! Make sure to submit your points to the historian for points!
TOA WEEKEND
For ELIBIBLE MEMBERS ONLY, get ready for our TOA convention weekend in Austin! To those who are going, make sure to meet us at the REC center parking lot next to UHCO the morning of if you are riding with us! For any questions, contact any of the officers for more details.
2nd General Meeting
Hey POPS! Our second general meeting for spring semester will be Wednesday, February 11th. Current UHCO students will come talk about their experience and answer any questions you all may have. Come join us to learn what it is like to be an optometry student at the University of Houston College of Optometry!
Community Health Expo
Volunteer for the Community Health Expo:
Why Volunteer? Help guests who are blind or visually impaired feel welcomed, supported, and safe. You can help make a meaningful difference in the community.
Volunteer tasks may include:
Assisting guests with navigation and wayfinding
Helping at activity or vendor tables
Provide general support-basic training provided on-site, staff support available.
Intern Deadline
For new paid members joining in the Spring semester. If you have already applied or were a member last semester, you will not be offered an intern position. Due Sunday, February 1st at 11:59PM! NO EXCEPTIONS!!
Intern Requirements:
Attend intern meetings on 2/4/2026 and 3/10/2026
Attend at least one general meeting this Spring semester
Attend at least one volunteering event this Spring semester
Annual UHCO Research Showcase
This event will highlight research conducted by our College’s graduate students, optometry students, postdocs, research assistants/associates, residents and fellows, and will also include vision related projects conducted in collaboration with other UH departments. The poster presentations will span a wide range of vision related topics, with an emphasis on both clinical and basic science research.
If you plan to attend, please RSVP using the link below no later than end of the day on Friday, January 23rd.
